As an anti-oppressive educator, I am committed to social justice, culturally responsive teaching, and equitable educational access. That is why I am so excited about the potential of Universal Design for Learning (UDL) for implementing just educational practices. In my own classes, I use an anti-oppressive UDL framework to design equitable policies, practices, instruction, activities, and assessments.
I am now thrilled to offer workshops and consultations on an anti-oppressive UDL framework to schools and other educational institutions. I have extensive experience in teaching, presenting, and facilitating discussions about anti-oppressive pedagogy, and I would love to share what I’ve learned with you.
My workshops and consultations would be a good fit for schools and educational institutions that are interested in learning about how a paradigm shift to a UDL framework, with its emphasis on accessibility and flexibility, will result in educational equity, greater student success, and more sustainable teaching.
